Turning Point Academy Middle School is a specialized alternative educational program designed to support students who require additional academic, behavioral, or attendance interventions. Our structured learning environment combines high-quality instruction with therapeutic supports to promote student growth, stability, and success. Through individualized interventions and a collaborative approach, we prepare students to successfully transition back to their home school with the skills and confidence needed to thrive.

Program Goals

Enhance Student Behavior

Support students in developing positive decision-making, self-management, and respectful interpersonal skills that contribute to a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment.

Strengthen Student Academic Achievement

Provide individualized instruction and targeted academic interventions that improve performance, increase engagement, and build the knowledge and confidence necessary for long-term success.

Promote Consistent Student Attendance

Encourage regular school attendance by helping students establish positive attendance habits, understand the importance of being present and prepared, and remove barriers that interfere with consistent participation.

Code of Student Conduct

Students at Turning Point Academy Middle School are required to follow the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Code of Student Conduct.

As an alternative education program, TPA-MS also maintains additional behavior expectations to ensure a safe and supportive campus environment. These expectations are clearly explained during student orientation so that all students understand the standards and responsibilities associated with their placement.
